چکیده

Experiments were performed to determine whether the absence of the enzyme sys tem tryptophan peroxidase (TPO) in transplanted hepatomas was associated with fac tors other than deletion of the apoenzymes, and whether changes in TPO activity and its adaptive response occurred during carcinogenesis with 3'-methyl-4-dimethylaminoazobenzene (3'-Me-DAB). No appreciable TPO activity was observed in two transplanted rat hepatomas (Novikoff and 3'-Me-DAB hepatoma) or in a transplanted mouse hepatoma (Hepatoma 134). Neither the addition of a peroxide-generating sys tem nor the addition of normal liver homogenate was effective in activating the TPO system of the Novikoff hepatoma. There was no evidence that hepatoma homogenate impaired the TPO activity in normal liver homogenate. When the TPO activity of animals fed 0.06 per cent 3'-Me-DAB was determined, the activity was equivalent to

Effect of Co-Application of Auxin-Producing Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Tryptophan on Wheat Growth under Water Stress Conditions

Auxin produced by plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) in the wheat rhizosphere, can improve plant yield under water deficit stress condition. To investigate this issue, a completely randomized factorial design with three replications was conducted under greenhouse condition at the University of Maragheh, Eastern-Azarbayjan, Iran during 2019. Treatments were two types of growth-promoting bact...

Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase and Immunological Tolerance during Pregnancy

Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), an enzyme involved in the catabolism of tryptophan, is expressed by a variety of cells and tissues such as macrophages, dendritic cells, cells of the endocrine system and by the placenta. IFN- γ is the main inducer of this enzyme. IDO acts as an important defense mechanism of innate immunity against pathogens. It also has tumor suppressive activity and prolong...

In Vitro Study of Acriflavine Interaction with Horseradish Peroxidase C

Acriflavine (3,6-diaminoacridine) is an anticeptic drug developed in 1912. Previous research has focused on investigation of the intercalating features of acriflavine, but little is known about its interaction with proteins. Drug-receptor interaction is of major interest in clinical science. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the ability of acriflavine to induce alterations in conform...

Purification and Kinetic Properties of Guaiacol Peroxidase in Turnip (Brassica napus var. okapi) Root During Different Growth Stages

In this study, we present changes of peroxidase (E. C. 1.11.1. 7) activities in the root of Brassica napus var. Okapi during rosette stage until ripening of the fruits. Peroxidase activity was determined seasonally over an eight month period. Results showed that total peroxidase activity in the root was highest in mid June and the lowest activities were observed from time of winter dormancy unt...
